Training and Certifications

IPC training

IPC/WHMA-A-620 sets out what an acceptable crimp, solder joint and finished harness look like, so buyers and suppliers judge the work against the same criteria. Our cable and harness assemblies are built to it.

Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to delivering consistently high standards of workmanship is underpinned by our investment in people, robust quality management systems and internationally recognised industry standards.

ASL benefits from having its own in-house IPC-qualified trainer, ensuring that all shop floor operators receive comprehensive training to the relevant IPC standards. This dedicated internal capability allows us to maintain a consistent approach to training, workmanship and quality control across our entire manufacturing operation.

By delivering training in-house, we can continually develop our employees' skills, provide ongoing technical guidance and reinforce best practices directly within the production environment. It also enables us to respond quickly to evolving customer requirements, introduce refresher training when required and ensure that new employees are trained to the same exacting standards as our experienced workforce.

This investment in our people is fundamental to maintaining a culture of quality and continuous improvement. It ensures that every operator understands the standards expected of them, takes ownership of their workmanship and contributes to delivering products that consistently meet our customers' specifications. This approach helps minimise defects, reduce rework, improve manufacturing efficiency and provide our customers with confidence in the quality and reliability of every assembly we produce.

Our commitment to operational excellence is further reinforced by our ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety certifications. Together, these internationally recognised standards demonstrate our dedication to maintaining effective quality management processes, promoting a safe working environment and continually improving our business practices.

By combining internationally recognised management systems with dedicated in-house IPC training, ASL ensures that quality, consistency, safety and accountability are embedded throughout our operations, giving our customers the assurance that their products are manufactured by a skilled, competent and quality-focused workforce.

  • ISO 45001

    Occupational health and safety

Certified occupational health and safety management. A safe, orderly shop floor is part of consistent quality, and it is a question many supplier assessments ask.

  • JOSCAR

Registered: aerospace, defence and security supplier register

JOSCAR is the shared pre-qualification register used across aerospace, defence and security. Buyers who use it can view our supplier information there instead of starting from a blank questionnaire.
